DCP Entertainment is honored to work with Dr. Van Dahlen, whose credentials are impressive.
Dr. Van Dahlen currently leads the PREVENTS Task Force (the President’s Roadmap to Empower Veterans and End a National Tragedy of Suicide). The Task Force was created by an executive order signed by President Trump in 2019. PREVENTS aims to prevent suicide among veterans and all Americans by changing the culture surrounding mental health and suicide.
Dr. Van Dahlen was selected to lead the PREVENTS Task Force in part because of her incredible work with Give an Hour, a pro-bono program she founded in 2005 to provide free mental health services for veterans, service members, and their families. The program quickly grew into a national network of thousands of professional volunteers, who have collectively given tens of thousands of hours in free services. Today, the program has expanded to address the mental health needs of other populations in addition to veterans and their families.
In April 2012, Dr. Van Dahlen was named one of Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in the World.” In 2012, her Give an Hour program was selected as one of five “Joining Forces Community Challenge” winners, a White House initiative started by first lady Michelle Obama and second lady Jill Biden, PhD, to support service members and their families, which also spurred the creation of the Campaign to Change Direction.
